CBD for Stress Relief
Allow Nature to Help You Get Back to Life
Humans have been tapping into the therapeutic and stress-relieving benefits of cannabis plants for thousands of years. With CBD legal across the country, could its stress-relieving properties be beneficial to you? How does CBD reduce stress? What other effects does CBD have on someone?
What is CBD?
Cannabis plants contain chemical compounds known as cannabinoids. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis. THC is responsible for the high someone might experience with marijuana use. CBD, however, is non-psychoactive, meaning it does not produce a high like THC does. CBD has been shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties and other health benefits, including reducing stress.

How does CBD Reduce Stress?
While many other stress or anxiety medications on the market are addictive and have the potential for negative side effects, CBD is a more natural option to treat anxiety and stress. Anxiety medications seek ways to increase serotonin levels. Serotonin is the feel-good hormone that increases happiness and gives one a sense of well-being.
CBD interacts with different receptors in our brains, including the 5-HT1a receptor, which is a serotonin subtype. CBD also unblocks CB1 receptors in the amygdala of the brain. Blocked CB1 receptors increase anxiety, so activating and unblocking them reduces anxiety.
- Pain Relief
CBD may be able to help with pain management, as it can be used as an analgesic (pain reliever). Many people with chronic conditions have found relief by utilizing CBD. - Sleep Disorders
Studies have shown that CBD can improve sleep quality in those who suffer from insomnia or other sleep disorders like REM behavior disorder (RBD). CBD has been shown to reduce the levels of cortisol (the stress hormone), which helps you relax more at bedtime. Since CBD eases anxiety as well, drifting off to dreamland is easier with it in the system. - Depression Relief
In one study done on mice, researchers found that CBD reduced depression-like behaviors when given at low doses over long periods of time. - Overall Wellness
CBD has been shown to improve gut health, boost your immune system, and reduce symptoms of neurological disorders (such as Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Dravet syndrome, and more).

My first night with the product was a particularly important night for me because I had to get up early for a long day ahead. I was feeling anxiety about A) the next day’s workload, and B) fear that I may not be able to fall asleep. I took some of the Chill X, and immediately I felt more relaxed, and very soon drifted off to sleep. Sometimes when I’m feeling … I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to fall back asleep. With this CBD, however, I slept all through the night, and woke up feeling great.
This product is now invaluable for me to have on-hand. I don’t need it every night, but on the nights when I really need to sleep and I can’t, it is a life saver. I experience no side effects, but rather, I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to start my day. Thank you 101 CBD!!!

Is CBD safe?
Currently, there are no known major side effects of CBD use. Unlike other cannabis products out there, there’s no known risk of overdosing on CBD because it doesn’t contain THC.
As with any new addition to your wellness plan, consulting a doctor before taking CBD is best.
CBD can be taken in four different ways:
- Inhalation (smoking or vaping)
- Ingestion (gummies, capsules, or beverages)
- Sublingually (tincture or oil placed underneath the tongue)
- Topically (lotions, creams, or salves applied to the skin)
Once you have been cleared to begin, start with a low dose of CBD and increase it until you find the right amount for your needs. As with other medications or products, if you experience any negative side effects, stop using CBD.
There is no known correlation between topical CBD products and stress reduction. One of the other three methods of taking CBD will be the most effective at reducing your stress.
If you are experiencing stress in your life, consider adding CBD to your routine. You may be able to reap the stress-relieving benefits (and numerous other benefits) of the cannabis plants without the high.
Quality is Our #1 Priority
Since we developed our CBD for our young son dealing with a severe neurological ailment, it was our utmost priority to create a product that we felt comfortable giving him. Being organic was only the beginning. We wanted control over the entire seed to shelf process. Today, we have that control and with continual third-party testing, we can show our customers they are purchasing only the best from us.
